From Behind My Lens V1

As a little girl, I remember absolutely loving make-up, lip gloss, jewelry, and nail polish. What little kid doesn't, actually? I spent countless hours discussing different shades of gloss with my mother, and every chance I got, I pored over the treasures in my grandmother's jewelry box. I remember contemplating my daily wardrobe and constantly futzing with my hair. I'm not sure I was deeply aware of what it was, but even then, as a young girl, I found a path to my own self-confidence.

Following my mother's path and passion, after high school, I headed into education, hoping to teach and mentor young people on their own journeys. This was very good for me, but ulitmately, I remained a bit restless within myself and not completely happy. Teaching is a gift, and as we all know; some are great at it and others lack the plethora of skills necessary to be truly amazing educational mentors. I feared I might have a foot in both camps.

In high school and my early years at university, I enjoyed and explored some elements of graphic & web design, alongside photography, which I really loved. I started photographing family, friends, their kids, weddings, and other important life events. The power of capturing life, love, and even loss is a privilege and one that I took great pride in. And while finding a comfort zone behind the lens was still a work in progress, I could see and feel the beginnings of my love for empowerment photography start to fill in. It took me back to my own early days of fantasies & dreams via lip gloss, pretty nails, and elegant jewelry.

Empowerment photography can have many meanings. For me, it speaks to photographing women in ways that provide a luxurious and unique personal experience, and our focus is on creating solace, within an intimate setting. I have worked extremely hard with my partners and team to create several settings at Monroe & Co, that offer our customers and clients many different options for getting comfortable and beginning their own journey to self-empowerment.

A boudoir session is not just about capturing stunning photographs (yes, we promise we'll do this, too); it's about celebrating YOU in all your beauty, glory, and strength. It's about seizing the moment, feeling confident, and completely empowered. If you're ready to embark on your own journey of self-celebration, we're here to help you every step of the way. Let's capture this moment in your life, creating timeless memories that celebrate the incredible person you are. We'll be ready for your booking!
